Question is - Do I finish off the black part on the center with metallic silver painted or not?

ReplyDeleteHi, I just stumbled upon your terracotta work.Beautiful work. I've been trying my hand at terracotta too with sculpey original terracotta clay (brownish colored one). I'm using acrylic paints and found that the colors look really dull after I paint it on the finished baked piece. Do you have any recommendations on which type of sculpey clay to use so that I get the true colors. Also, any reccmmendations for a specific brand of acrylic paints?

DeleteI use black colored sculpey - I liked black the best among all. You can try and see what color clay you like best - there are these 2 oz sculpey clay available in craft stores - good for sampling.
As for paint - I use craftsmart and folkart metallic colors. Even with a single brand some colors work and some dont work as well. Trial and error :)
Hi ,I came across your work and was thoroughly impressed with your creativity .i am also very keen in making my own clay jewelry ,got a few slabs of Sculpey but don't know how to begin .I would like to know if it is possible to make regular round beads at home ,piercing a hole and then baking them .Please can you help me with all the things that I would need to get started .

DeleteFor baking these at home I use the kitchen oven in my gas range. I have also read else where that polymer clay could be baked in an Oven-Toaster-Grill (OTG). In fact, some people like to not use the same oven for food and clay :)
